The ‘Adopt a Needy Family’ programme is a development to include more needy families in the monthly handout. Adoption will be anonymous but we will provide a quarterly report with real life examples, how the Food Goodie Bag provisions have helped a needy family.
Your contribution will enable us to include an additional family/school into the needy families under our direct care. The money donated by you will be going to a ‘Food Purchase Fund’ from which we will purchase basic food items.
Evaluation of our Beneficiaries
We have identified schools as trustworthy partners to help us access the cases that are in need. The schools will evaluate the family situation and put their most needy cases forward. A student that comes from a family with the following criteria will be eligible for this programme:
Average per capita income in households = between S$0 - S$200
The Food Goodie Bag will be packed individually according to number of family members. We regret to inform that we are not able to access cases directly due to our limitation of manpower, however if you are seeking assistance and have a child that is in school, we are open for the school to approach us.

How to Help as a Corporation
Adopt a neighbourhood school
Costs of goodie bag sponsorship per year:
50 Students x S$55 (Cost of monthly goodie bag) x 12 months = S$33,000
With your help we will be able to feed 50 of the most needy families per adopted school.
Currently we have adopted 10 schools which are namely;

Donor/staff will be invited to participate in 2 school events which serve as a platform to meet and interact with the beneficiaries.

Payment:
Donors will be required to pay the total sum of what they have indicated as we would like to give the family the assurance that the provision they provide will on-going for the adoption period.
Cheques can be made payable to "FOOD FROM THE HEART" and post it to our mailing address along with a print out of the verification slip. Do also write behind the cheque "For Food Purchase Fund".
For all other forms of payment, our staff will contact you to process it.
All donations made to Food from the Heart can be double tax exempted. To help us facilitate this, please indicate your name, NRIC/FIN number and your mailing address clearly on the form.
Adoption Renewal:
As we may receive donor support on this programme at different time of the year, we will be approaching the donor for renewal in the month of December regardless of when they started their adoption. This is to consolidate the administration process to avoid any miscommunication or missing out any adoption due for renewal.
